Student Support
We love working with students and are here to make your ±«Óãtv experience a memorable one. From student organizations to one-on-one mentorship, the Humanities Institute is here to support your academic journey through proven High Impact Practices. Below are ways to get involved with HI but if you have other ideas you are passionate about, let us know.
Open to all ±«Óãtv graduate students conducting research in the humanities (regardless of major), the Graduate Humanities Symposium provides great experience for your C.V. or professional resume, as well as opportunities to network with other graduate students.

Learn more about the Undergraduate Humanities Conference
One way the Humanities Institute supports student research at ±«Óãtv is through travel stipends available to undergraduate students who have been accepted to present their original research at a national or international conference. Annual gifts help us make funding like this available to many more students. Learn more about student travel and how to support student research in the humanities.
An important form of experiential learning, internships allow students to gain professional experience in a work setting prior to graduation. When students participate in internships at the Humanities Institute, they learn budgeting, event planning, marketing, social media management, and other skills related to working in non-profits and higher education administration.

Departments, faculty, or student groups who are seeking support for an event from the Humanities Institute should complete as much of this simple form as possible and send to Liz Kicak. Completing this form does not guarantee support from HI. After submitting the form, we'll schedule a short meeting virtually or in person to determine what resources are available, if there are scheduling conflicts, and how recently your home department has received support from HI in the past. While we would love to support all events, fund purposes and allowable expenses have to be considered.
