Hazardous Waste

Waste Minimization

±«Óãtv Hazardous Waste Minimization Program

As a large quantity generator of hazardous waste, ±«Óãtv is required to operate a waste minimization program. Waste minimization is the reduction in the amount of toxicity or waste produced by a facility, and includes source reduction, re-use, recycling, and treatment options in lieu of disposal. Help us reduce the amount of hazardous waste produced at ±«Óãtv, and its environmental impacts, by utilizing the Hazardous Waste Minimization Guide.

National Waste Minimization Program

The National Waste Minimization Program supports efforts that promote a more sustainable society, reduce the amounts of waste generated, and lower the toxicity and persistence of wastes that are generated.

Pollution Prevention

Pollution prevention is reducing or eliminating waste at the source by modifying production processes, promoting the use of non-toxic or less-toxic substances, implementing conservation techniques, and re-using materials rather than putting them into the waste stream.

Microchemistry

Green chemistry technologies provide a number of benefits, including: reduced waste, eliminating costly end-of-the-pipe treatments, safer products, reduced use of energy and resources, improved competitiveness of chemical manufacturers and their customers.
