Michael completed his B.A. in Statistics in 2012 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a Concentration in Statistics. He studied abroad with the Muma College of Business on Entrepreneurship at the University of Glamorgan in Wales, England. The following year, he studied abroad at the London School of Economics in Westminster on the General Course exchange program. “Spending time abroad taught me a great deal about my own culture and highlighted many unique aspects I had not thought about.” While at LSE, he was actively involved as a member of the LSE economics club and one of the members of the conference planning committee. Michael personally recruited the CEO of Mastercard UK to speak at LSE.
He also studied abroad for a week at the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University under their “Doing Business in China” program run jointly with LSE. In addition, Michael spent a week at the International Federation of Nonlinear Analyst’s World Congress in Athens, Greece. “I found my time abroad to have been highly helpful in many ways that I had not anticipated. Some of the material I learned at LSE was cutting edge work that represented state of the art research. I found some of these techniques and approaches useful to some of my later dissertation work, which combines methods across disciplines in unique and novel ways.”
Michael is planning to set up a registered investment advisory with a partner who is currently an engineer at Alphabet. He hopes to pursue a career in academia that can make use of both his academic and business experience to offer unique insights to students.
