Trainings Available
To request a training or a topical presentation for a group, organization, or class, please contact va@usf.edu. In order for staff to best accommodate training requests, we ask that requests be submitted at least two weeks prior to the presentation date.
When requesting a training, please include information about the following: your group, requested training topic, preferred dates and times, training location, and estimated group size.

The trainings listed below can be modified to fit audience needs and time slots. The Center for Victim Advocacy can also deliver trainings on topics related to violence prevention, trauma-informed practice, boundaries, victimology, domestic violence, stalking, harassment, and other related topics.
Bystander Intervention Training
*Content Warning: This workshop explores topics related to violence, including sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, and harassment. The discussion will include definitions and dynamics of violence, in addition to scenario-based learning
In this 1.5 hour workshop, students develop skills to identify potentially violent situations and safely and effectively intervene to decrease instances of violence in the ±«Óãtv community and create a culture of collective support. During the workshop, students explore ±«Óãtv policy, signs and dynamics of power-based violence, barriers to intervening, and the 3D bystander intervention approach.
Consent Conversations
*Content Warning: This workshop explores sexual consent and may include discussion of sexual violence.
This 1.5 hour workshop supports students in developing a mutual respect framework for consent and in building a personal script for consent communication that is culturally relevant and flexible. Students explore how culture, education, and communication style impact our understanding and application of consent, and think through ways to create the emotional and physcial safety necessary for open, honest consent conversations.
How to Support a Victim Training
*Content Warning: This workshop explores topics related to violence, including sexual
violence, relationship violence, stalking, and harassment.
This 30 or 60 minute presentation provides participants with an overview of services offered through the Center for Victim Advocacy. Participants will also learn how to provide trauma-informed support to those who have experienced an incident of victimization.
