GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP

Admitted students to the ABA doctoral program are automatically awarded a competitive graduate assistantship. No additional application is required. Assistantships include four years of tuition coverage, health insurance, and a monthly stipend. The monthly stipend equates to around $27,000 in the first year, $30,000 in the second year, and $35,000 in years three and four (if required). The assistantship is a 12-month appointment requiring 20 hours of work per week. Students are required to teach classes, assist faculty with research, and other duties as assigned. Graduate assistants receive a health insurance subsidy.

Partial waivers of both in-state and out-of-state tuition fees will be given to graduate students who are appointed as graduate teaching/research assistants or associates. Students receiving tuition waivers will be responsible for fees associated with credit hours taken.

Doctoral students also receive up to $1000 per conference for two conferences per year (FABA and ABAI). Additional funding may be approved upon request.
