Theatre±«Óătv Honors Program Overview

Theatre±«Óătv and Theatre Honors Program, ±«Óătv Honors College

The Theatre±«Óătv Honors Program admits upper-level theatre majors who have a 3.5 GPA in the major, a 3.2 overall GPA and whose skills are judged to be excellent. A one-year sequence of 6-8 credits, the program begins with a reading seminar and progresses to a guest artist practicum and a student thesis project.

The number of Theatre±«Óătv students enrolled in Honors rarely exceeds ten. Students in the program have studied “popular theatre,” German theatre, contemporary European theatre, and the clown and the circus in modern theatre, among other topics. For their thesis projects they have written papers and original theatre pieces, and directed/designed plays.

With approval of the director and instructor, the entire Honors sequence may substitute for one of the Theatre History/Literature requirements.
