Art Research

Art research at the ±«Óãtv expands the practice of our students, faculty and community of artists through interdisciplinary work, global explorations of perspectives and local community engagement.

The School of Art & Art History facilitates research activity by inviting scholars and professional artists to ±«Óãtv to present new ideas through workshops, talks and community outreach endeavors. This is also an opportunity for current students to gain different perspectives and insights into their own research and creative projects.

As part of the College of Design, Art & Performance, students also benefit from learning from the internationally recognized . The college also provides information about opportunities, awards and funding sources for students to conduct their own research or develop a vision into an art piece.

Today, ±«Óãtv is one of only 40 public research universities nationwide with very high research activity that is designated as community engaged by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The ±«Óãtv Office of Research & Innovation provides additional resources for students and faculty to help support and fund ideas and research work. Undergraduates at the university are encouraged to take advantage of a wide range of research opportunities. The Office of High Impact Practices & Undergraduate Research provides support to students engaged in undergraduate research and teaches students about the expectations and privileges associated with undergraduate research. Graduate students have the opportunity to work alongside internationally renowned faculty and researchers in a variety of settings. Together they work to create solutions to society's most pressing problems.
