Laboratory
The IDEx laboratory, located in CMC 004 suite at ±«Óãtv Tampa campus, is equipped with the state-of-the-art hardrware and software for 2D and 3D digitization and digital data curation. Twelve high-end desktop computers four laptops connected with a centralized NAS system are used for the data processing.
3D digitization
IDEx lab has an array of 3D digitization devices for digital mapping at the level of artefact/site/landscape, such as structured light 3D scanners (Artec Eva, Artec Spider, EinScan Pro 2x), laserscanners working a different resolution (NextEngine, Romer Absolute Arm) and stationary and portable terrestrial LiDARs (Faro Focus 3D, BLK 360, PX-80), emplyoyed in tandem with proprietary and commercial pount cloud and mesh processing software.
Digital Photogrammetry and RTI
The lab has an esemble of DSLR cameras with a variety of lenses and a Reflectance Trasformation Imaging array to perform 3D model production via digital photogrammetry and 3D visualization and imaging studies.
3D Printing
IDEx has a dedicated 3D printing lab with 9 FDM and SLA 3D printers capable to fabricate replicas in medium/large scale and different materials
Virtual Reality
Besides numerous, smart tables and screens, the lab is equipped with several virtuality reality headset, such as Oculus Rift and Meta Quest 2.
