Our Programs
Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies has been a part of the University of South Florida since 1972 where it has been educating as an interdisciplinary field of study that critically examines historical, cultural, racial, class, and other differences. The ±«Óătv Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) has a long history of producing excellent undergraduate majors and minors.
WGSS offers a B.A. and an M.A. in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, as well as a minor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; a minor in Queer and Sexuality Studies; and a graduate certificate in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
The department focuses on critical thinking, collaborative learning, and personal empowerment. ±«Óătv's Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Undergraduate Program prepares students with a Bachelor of Arts to go on to graduate school, medical school, law school, or enter the workforce in a wide variety of public, private, governmental, and non-profit agencies.
Today our graduate faculty members are nationally recognized award-winning teachers and scholars committed to mentoring graduate student scholars.
Our close-knit community of undergraduate and graduate students brags about WGS having its own cozy library with more than 300 books and journals, and break room for catching up.
We also boast more than 60 affiliate faculty members, representing more than 27 different departments and colleges across ±«Óătv. These scholars cross list their classes with WGSS and serve on MA thesis and internship committees.
