Emergency Management Releases Hurricane Guide

View form space: Hurricane Irma approaches Florida.

±«Óãtv Emergency Management released their annual update to the ±«Óãtv Hurricane Guide for the start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. ±«Óãtv community members are encouraged to review the guide and become prepared as we enter into Hurricane Season. 

Highlighted changes in this year's update:

  • FEMA guideance has changed where you are now expected to maintain a disaster supply kit that can last you for seven days. The previous standard was 72 hours. 
  • Hurricane Season has a new unoffical start date of May 15. The National Hurricane Center will begin issuing routine Atlantic tropical weather outlooks on May 15, rather than June 1. 
  • Updates to links and numbers for certain resources, primairly due to consolidation of ±«Óãtv's campuses.
