African Students Association
African Students Association (ASA) serves as a home away from home for all the African Students and a cultural learning experience for those who are not African. ASA was founded in 1997 to help promote awareness of Africa and its diaspora to ±«Óãtv and the Tampa Bay community.
Black Female Development Circle, Inc at ±«Óãtv
The Black Female Development Circle is an organization of black women that came together at the University of Florida in 1994. The group was founded to serve as a support system for black women. Meetings were to be a place where women with similar experiences could come together to discuss current events and find comfort from women who could relate to them. BFDC serves as a support system to all women and provide skills to uplift and empower all.
Black Student Union
The purpose of the Black Student Union is to promote racial/ethnic interaction between and among the different ethnic groups at the ±«Óãtv. Through promoting relations between Black students and other students by providing cultural and social forums and activities, they hope to improve the relations between the different ethnic groups by knocking down the wall of ignorance and building a bridge of understanding.
National Society of Black Engineers
The mission of National Society of Black Engineers is to "increase the number of culturally responsible black [and minority] engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.
