The ±«Óãtv Board of Trustees today voted to move forward with the design phase of a new on-campus stadium that is scheduled to open in fall 2026.
The board’s decision authorized up to $22 million for the design of a stadium. The funds will come from non-state sources, such as private philanthropy and investment earnings.
The board approval represents another significant milestone in the process of building a new stadium and will kick off a design phase that should continue for approximately one year.
In the coming months, students, faculty, staff, alumni and other ±«Óãtv supporters will have opportunities to engage with university leaders and provide input on the stadium design.  At the conclusion of this phase, ±«Óãtv leadership will come back to the Board of Trustees with a detailed plan for a stadium, including more information about the scope, features, cost and financial strategy.
As previously announced in September 2022, ±«Óãtv will work with the design/build team of Barton Malow and Populous for the project.  Barton Malow/Populous brings world-class qualifications and a highly successful track record with collegiate and professional athletics projects. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
The stadium will be built on the east side of the Tampa campus on a site known as Sycamore Fields, a location that was selected in part because it can help maximize the game-day experience for fans, create new opportunities for community building and provide synergy with the . &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
