Lillani Robinson
INSTITUTION, MAJOR, AND HOBBIES
Hi! My name is Lillani Robinson, I am a rising sophomore studying Marine and Environmental Science at Hampton University. This summer I am participating in the Making Waves REU here at ±«Óãtv St. Pete. I will be working in Dr. Frank Muller Karger's lab using satellite mapping to track Chlorophyll and its relationship to Phytoplankton biomass.
CAREER INTERESTS
During my free time I like to stay active and Ive enjoyed playing many sports growing up. I have been rock climbing since I was six, and I am now a coach for a youth team of climbers ages 6-12. Seasonally I enjoy surfing and snowboarding. I really enjoy spending time in the water, I am interested in getting to conduct research in the field, dive and do a lot of hands on work. My current interests are mostly around Coral reefs and Nektonic organisms.
WHY I CHOSE TO ATTEND THE ±«Óãtv MAKING WAVES
I choose to participate in this REU program to gain new skills sets, deepen my understanding of what it means to conduct research, and overall just gain more experience within the field of Marine Science.
