Dr. Judith A. Ponticell received a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Curriculum Design and an M.Ed. in Policy Evaluation and Research from the University of Illinois, Chicago. As a faculty member at ±«Óãtv, Dr. Ponticell served as Interim Dean of the College of Education for 2020-21 and Chair of the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Lifelong Learning for six years. Prior to returning to the ±«Óãtv's Tampa campus in 2012, Dr. Ponticell was Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at ±«Óãtv Lakeland, and Sr. Associate Vice President and Regional Vice Chancellor at ±«Óãtv Polytechnic.

Before Dr. Ponticell came to ±«Óãtv in 2003, she had served as Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Organizational Learning at the University of New Mexico; as Director of the Panhandle-South Plains Center for Professional Development and Interim Director of the Professional Development School Collaborative at Texas Tech University; and as Director of the Chicago Area School Effectiveness Council and Project Director for the Center for Urban Leadership Education at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Dr. Ponticell has worked with schools, school districts, state departments of education, community agencies and other universities in the areas of leadership development, strategic planning, program development and evaluation, and policy evaluation. Her research addresses personal, interpersonal and organizational factors that influence individual and organizational learning and change.

Dr. Ponticell is co-editor of the "Wiley Handbook of Educational Supervision;" co-author of "The Tutoring Revolution: Applying Research for Best Practices, Policy Implications, and Student Achievement;" "Enhancing Learning in Training and Adult Education;" "FutureWork: The Revolution Reshaping American Business;" and "Closing the Literacy Gap in American Business." She is the author or co-author of numerous book chapters and articles in the "National Journal of Urban Education and Practice," the "Peabody Journal of Education," the "Journal of Curriculum and Supervision," and the "Journal of Teacher Education," amongst others.
