The ±«Óătv College of Education today announced it has signed the, committing to prepare educators with the skills to successfully use technology for
learning in face-to-face, hybrid, and online classrooms.
Dr. Ilene Berson, Professor of Early Childhood and Faculty Champion for the Pledge
Initiative, shared, “Our participation in this national initiative positions the ±«Óătv
College of Education at the forefront of innovative educational preparation. This
partnership aligns with our commitment to providing educators with comprehensive skills
in digital literacy and technology integration while also prioritizing inclusive and
equitable educational practices. By interweaving the principles of inclusivity, equity,
and digital innovation into our programs, we aim to prepare our graduates to pioneer
future educational advancements and ensure they are equipped to navigate and shape
the evolving educational landscape."
The EPPs for Digital Equity and Transformation Pledge is a partnership between the
U.S. Department of Education and the International Society for Technology in Education
(ISTE).
“Knowing how to use technology to support student learning is an essential skill for
any teacher to thrive in a post-COVID world,” said Richard Culatta, CEO of ISTE. “I’m

By signing the pledge, The ±«Óătv College of Education joins 91 institutions committed
to preparing teachers to thrive in digital learning environments; preparing teachers
to use technology to pursue ongoing professional learning; preparing teachers to apply
frameworks to accelerate transformative digital learning; equipping all faculty to
continuously improve expertise in technology for learning; and collaborating with
school leaders to identify shared digital teaching competencies.
