Jeongsuk “Jenna” Kim, Ph.D., MSW, is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work at the ±«Óătv. Kim received her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina (2019) and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2022).
 
Kim’s research focuses on violence against women and children, including intimate partner violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. She is specifically interested in finding ways to prevent and ameliorate violence perpetration and victimization among socially and racially vulnerable populations. In her postdoctoral training, she participated in a community-engaged research project concerning service provision for human trafficking survivors, funded by the National Institute of Justice. Her recent research has focused on understanding violence survivors’ adverse mental health outcomes, with a particular emphasis on suicide risk. Throughout her scholarly work, Kim aims to promote the resilience and well-being of violence survivors by advancing knowledge with which to inform program and policy interventions.
Her studies have been published in scholarly journals such as Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Trauma, Violence, & Abuse; Violence against Women, Children and Youth Services Review; Violence and Victims; and Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment & Trauma.
