Dr. Daniel Horn is a Visiting Professor of Instruction at the School of Social Work at the ±«Óãtv. He received his BSW and MSW from Florida State University and earned his Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2023.
Dr. Horn brings a wealth of experience in policy analysis, macro practice, and research and evaluation in social work. His career has been deeply shaped by his commitment to social and economic justice, with particular expertise in homelessness, housing solutions, and economic empowerment. His teaching areas include social policy, macro practice, case management, diversity, and justice, where he emphasizes hands-on engagement with real-world policy issues.
Dr. Horn prioritizes critical thinking, ethical practice, and practical skills in
his courses. He employs role-play, experiential learning, and reflective exercises
to help students develop active listening and problem-solving skills essential for
effective social work practice. With a focus on community engagement, he encourages
students to confront complex social problems, empowering them to create meaningful
change.
