CRMHC students receive scholarships for community service and academic excellence

Broussard and Glatthaar

Broussard and Glatthaar are current students in the Master of Arts in Clinical Rehabilitation & Mental Health Counseling (CRMHC) program.

Two students in the Master of Arts in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (CRMHC) program have been awarded scholarships to support their studies during the 2024-2025 academic year.

Paris Broussard was chosen to receive the 2024-2025 Lynn Bartolotta Scholarship, which supports students who plan to serve people who are typically considered underserved after graduation. The Lynn Bartolotta Scholarship was established by Bartolotta's father to honor Bartolotta, a former rehabilitation and mental health counseling student who died during her final semester of the CRMHC program. Bartolotta has been described as an outstanding student and caring person who was committed to the well-being of everyone, particularly those struggling due to trauma and social or economic obstacles.

Amanda Glatthaar was selected to receive the 2024-2025 Dr. Dae Sheridan Endowed Scholarship and the Dr. Calvin Pinkard Scholarship. The Dr. Dae Sheridan Endowed Scholarship, named for the highly admired CRMHC program alumna, mentor, and longtime instructor, is given to students who aim to improve the fields of mental health counseling and human sexuality education. The Dr. Calvin Pinkard Scholarship, named for one of the original faculty members and founding chair of the rehabilitation counseling program, is given to CRMHC students who are involved in community service activities. In his work, Pinkard emphasized kindness and a humanistic approach to teaching and counseling.
