Lanicia Marshall is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Mental Health Law & Policy in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS) at ±«Óătv. Lanicia Marshall earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Florida State University. She is pursuing a PhD in Educational Psychology from the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies.  

Lanicia Marshall is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She is also a Certified Addictions Professional, and Florida Qualified Supervisor. She provides Continuing Education for individuals seeking licensure in the state of Florida, needing professional development and interested in learning experiential techniques to counsel children, families, first responders, veterans, and couples. In addition to ±«Óătv duties, Lanicia provides counseling services.

Research 

Research interest include Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), understanding the impact of trauma and different forms of trauma. Trauma awareness, intervention, and prevention, Integration of behavioral health and physical health. Increasing access to physical and behavioral health transitional services among underrepresented communities, Social and political determinates of physical and behavioral health. Nutrition, brain development and its impact on overall behavioral and physical health.  

Lanicia Marshall has experience as a Florida Certified Family Mediator. She previously served as the West Central Chapter Chair of the Florida Association for Play Therapy. 

Lanicia Marshall enjoys being an instructor at the ±«Óătv and preparing students for “real world” experiences. Her goal is to give each student at least one tool to utilize post-graduation.
