Research Interests

Assessment and treatment of health-related behavior including physical activity and nutrition; behavioral gerontology

Heather Zerger Ph.D., BCBA-D received her PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis from the ±«Óãtv in 2020 after completing her bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science and master’s degree in Psychology. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Applied Behavior Analysis Program in the Department of Child and Family Studies. She has taught both face-to-face and online at the undergraduate and graduate level. 

Her research has focused on increasing physical activity in typically developing children through functional analysis procedures, individualized contingency interventions, and peer interactions and competition. Her other research interests include the assessment and treatment of problem behavior in older adults diagnosed with dementia. She has worked in clinical, home, and community settings as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since receiving her certification in 2015.
